Edward Carson letter, 12.10.1924 to, his cousin, Ada Constance Moyers

This letter, to his cousin Ada Constance Moyers, on the death of her sister Mary Lambert is reproduced here courtsey of Adrienne Armstrong.

Ada Constance was the daughter of Peter Lambert of Castle Ellen (2nd marriage). She marrried, on  26.05.1857, Sir George Moyers who became Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1881

In this letter to his cousin, Ada Constance Moyers, Edward refers to his sister Bella who was living in Coleraine, County Derry at this time. This letter is also courtsey of Adrienne Armstrong.

Lord Carson lived at Cleve Court, a Queen Anne house near Minster in the Isle of Thanet, Kent, bought in 1921. It was here that Carson died peacefully on 22 October 1935. Britain gave him a state funeral, which took place in Belfast at St Anne’s Cathedral
