A New Helmsman

After editing many issues of Athenry News & Views, Lorna hands over the editorial helm to me, Gerry Ahern. As she departs, we thank her for her wonderful work in making the magazine such a successful and popular publication. The challenge now is to build on that success in future issues.

I’m a retired principal teacher and living in Athenry since 1975. After 32 years of voluntary work in various community organisations, I’ve a great interest and love of Athenry Town and Parish. During that time, I was a member of the editorial team of

the Athenry Journal based in ADC House, Station Road. I’m looking forward to working with the Athenry News & Views team here in A&T Print, Barrack Street, Athenry. We hope to make your magazine an even more attractive, interesting and informative one.

Our monthly publication provides a regular opportunity for community groups and individuals to publicise their activities and voice their opinions on matters of importance to the general public.

To that end, we continue to welcome news items and stories from you, our readers, and articles from our regular contributors. We are grateful for the continued support of our advertisers, and we would very much appreciate advertisements from new businesses in the community and surrounding parishes.

All items for publication can be hand-written or on disc and handed into the A&T Print office, or emailed to the address below.
