Athenry Boys’ National School played a 2–2 draw with Claregalway National School in the deciding match of the area competition of the Irish Primary Schools team tournament.

Athenry needed a win to keep their chances alive, while a draw was enough to send Claregalway through to the finals. The Athenry team was Cian … Ronan Kelly, Niall Egan, Cathal Keane and Gary Kilkelly.
