Launch of second IHCPT Gala Ball, April 2006

The launch of the second IHCPT Gala Ball took place in the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry on Thursday 30th March.

Last year’s ball was a wonderful success with €25,000 being raised for IHCPT – The Irish Pilgrimage Trust. It was encouraging to see such a worthwhile and successful event being added to the social calendar of Athenry, in particular when it could be held locally in the fabulous surroundings of the Raheen Woods.

IHCPT – The Irish Handicapped Children’s Pilgrimage Trust is a national charity caring for young people with special needs and its headquarters are located at Kilcuan, Kilcornan in Clarinbridge. This year alone the Trust will provide holidays for almost 1,000 Irish children and teenagers with special needs, either in Lourdes or at Kilcuan, the Trust’s own holiday home. Construction of a second holiday home in the South East of the country is due to begin soon.

Demand for tickets for this year’s ball is already very strong.

The music on the night will be provided by the Black Magic Orchestra, Ireland’s finest big band and another night of fun and festivities is expected!
