New Art Classes Jan 2009

Art classes for both adults and children will commence in February at Alison McGreal’s studio in Tiaquin, near Monivea. Designed to encourage creative discovery and expression through drawing and painting, the classes are located in a tranquil country setting. No previous experience is necessary and courses are geared towards beginners and also advanced levels.

Numbers will be limited in each class and completed artwork will be displayed at an end of course exhibition in Athenry.

Adult classes will take place in the mornings and the evenings over two hours. Children’s art workshops on Saturday mornings will encourage learning in a relaxed and fun atmosphere where creativity can be expressed freely, using a variety of materials and methods.

One-to-one instruction is also available for exam students in drawing, painting and related skills, together with portfolio preparation advice as required.

Alison is an experienced art teacher. She has taught at various levels for over twenty years and is committed to making the learning experience enjoyable and rewarding. A course specifically focused on drawing local places of historical interest will also be arranged at a later date, and this will give students the opportunity to sketch their chosen subject on site.
