Skylark Centre News Feb 2009

Here in Athenry we have been very busy since the Christmas season has passed.

The cold weather hasn’t kept us in and we are busy with many projects.

Next Wednesday a few of our service users are heading to Dublin for the National Indoor Games which are 5* always great fun and a brilliant day out. More recently, we celebrated wins in a swimming gala in Leisureland with 3 Golds and 1 Silver, so well done to all who took part.

Also, we travelled to Mullingar to mark the anniversary of the passing of showband legend, Joe Dolan. Many of our service users are still huge fans of Joe.

We would like to send a huge thank you to Ann Simpson and the Irish Heart Foundation for donating a defibrillator to the Skylark Centre in Athenry. We are grateful for this wonderful piece of equipment which we are hoping to receive later this month.

We have enjoyed many days out including day trips to Dublin, Limerick and Athlone and overnights with pastoral care in Kilcuan.
