It started on November 1989 for one year. We were lucky to get one of our parents, Tom Qualter, a skilled tradesman from Knockbrack, to spend the year with us. Even though he only had a 21/2 day week the school yard was transformed from being a rough and dangerous play area to a much safer place for children to play in. Lovely stone walls and flower beds, shrubs and lawns have enhanced the school premises. A much needed store was built near the shelter to replace the old galvanized garage.
