The under 10 Football Team had a very exciting and enjoyable year. Training started in early March and continued right up to late Autumn. An enjoyable day was had at the Oranmore blitz on Saturday 21 st of April. We competed in the city league 9 a side tournament in June. Played 7 group matches winning 6 games after l draw and losing 1, we then lost the semi-final to group 2 winners Killannin.

In June/July we competed in the Community Games. Beating Caltra and Knocknacarra, before been beaten by Claregalway who went on to win silver medals in Mosney.

On August 11th we entered two teams in a tournament held in Menlough. It was the Bobby Joe fun tournament 7 a side. Both our teams luckily won through to meet each other in the final. All of our players were given football socks.

We had a very enjoyable day on Aug.25th in Raheen at the National School Blitz. The tournament was just for members within the parish.

On Sept. 15th Claregalway invited us to take part in their blitz, had a wonderful day and played some good football.

We finally finished the year off with a flourish on Sat. Oct. 27th. On a bright sunny day we took part in a blitz held by Monivea. After beating Monivea, Killererin, Glenamaddy and finally Monivea a second time in the final, we collected the winners’ plaques.

Thanks to everyone who helped out throughout the year. To the parents for getting the children to training and games on a regular basis. Finally, thanks to Martin Whyte, Sean Kindergan, and Michael O’Halloran for coaching the children.
